When I started painting, I didn’t know how to paint.
I used to paint in the garden, in the corner of my garden, on my garage wall, in my bedroom.
My parents didn’t give me much help, because they had no experience.
When I was in university, I was painting for the school.
I think my friends painted a lot.
But when I got into university, it was like I was completely alone.
I had to learn to work alone.
My friends didn’t want to teach me.
They were always trying to teach, but I was just like, ‘No, no, I’m not doing this’.
That’s why when I moved to Australia, I did a lot of solo exhibitions.
One was on the back of a van.
There were other solo exhibitions in Melbourne, but it wasn’t a problem.
I started thinking about my art, and I realised I was a child.
And I started making art as a way of giving back.
So I started to work with my younger brother, who is the painter for the family.
We started to think about what we could do as artists to give back to our community.
So we did some things in our garage, for the kids room, and we started doing children’s room murals.
We put them in the front garden.
They’re pretty simple.
You just paint the wall with a brush and you put something over it.
I don’t know what it is about children, but there’s a lot more fun than there is.
It’s so simple, so simple to do.
My brother painted a little mural on the outside of the house, a little wall.
There are a lot less things to paint than with a lot younger people, so that was a big thing.
But the children’s rooms are really fun, because you have so much space.
There’s a big painting room there that you can have all kinds of different things.
The kids love to come over and play with it.
It makes them feel like they can go out there and have a good time.
They have to get up early, but they do.
It just makes you feel like you’re not alone.
When the children come, they’re so excited and excited to be there.
They can’t wait to be out there with their friends.
It also makes them realise they can have fun too, so they come over.
It helps them feel more at home.
If you look at the children room, there’s this big wall with the little boy, and there’s some other kids that are really close by.
You can see that they’re very close to each other, and they’re going to hang out together and play.
They come out of the bedroom and come up to you and say, ‘Mummy, Daddy, can I play?’
You’re just like: ‘Mum, Mum, Dad, can you play?’
That’s just the kids.
I mean, you see the children.
They love playing.
I’ve seen the children and I’m like, how do you do that?
So, there are other people out there.
I guess they’re like, you know, the children can play with the adults and then the adults can come over to the kids and play and then everybody’s happy.
So, it’s really fun to paint children’s bedrooms.
It gives the kids more freedom.
But it’s also good for the community.
It provides a good image for kids.
So if we’re going on holidays, we might just go down and paint in our kids’ rooms, but we might also go and paint on the other side of the street and get people to come and hang out.
We just paint over the kids’ room, which is great for the environment and for the children too.
I’m really proud of the kids, because I know it takes a lot to get kids to paint and get them to paint, and it takes so long.
You need to work very hard to get them.
I love that.
It can be so frustrating.
So for me, when I started, I had no idea what to do when I was bored.
I would just paint all the time.
So when I finished university, that’s when I thought, I need to start thinking about what I can do to do that, and that’s where I started.
I began thinking about art, I started talking about art.
I realised that there are a bunch of things that can be done for the people who are homeless, or people in poverty, or the disadvantaged, and for that, there needs to be art.
That’s what I’m doing.
